About Christophoros

Christophoros Christophi is the founder and managing partner of Christophi & Associates LLC, a leading Cyprus-based law firm. With a career spanning over 25 years, Christophoros is widely recognized for his deep expertise in Company & Commercial Law, Employment Law, and Industrial Relations. His areas of professional interest also extend to European Law, Media & Technology Law, and Intellectual Property Law.

He holds an LL.B (Hons) and an LL.M in Labour Law and Industrial Relations from the University of Leicester, UK, and was admitted to the Cyprus Bar in 1996.

Legal Practice & Career Highlights

• 1996–1998: Began his legal career at Phoebus, Christos Clerides & N. Pirelides & Co, first as a pupil advocate, then as an associate.
• 1998–2001: Appointed by Andreas Neocleous & Co to establish and manage their Nicosia office.
• 2001–Present: Founded Christophi & Associates, renamed Christophi & Associates LLC in 2009.

• Vrountou v. Republic of Cyprus (ECHR, 2015): A landmark victory at the European Court of Human Rights on sex discrimination and equal treatment.
• Lapertas v. Police (2002): First case before the Supreme Court on the constitutionality of Cyprus’s Stock Exchange Law.
• Damtsas v. Damtsas (2006): Clarified Family Court jurisdiction for Maronite community disputes.
• E.G. Falekkos Ltd v. Reana Manufacturers Ltd (2009): Established that a lawsuit’s title can be amended after judgment.
